2007 WSOP Event #55: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em World Championship
WSOP, 2007-07-15, by Ozone
In the past two days, the WSOP Main Event has seen its field of 337 remaining players cut down to 36. Most of the notable names remaining in the tournament were ousted in the process. The only former champion still with a chance to capture a second Main Event title is Scotty Nguyen. Nguyen starts today 27th in chips.
Today's action will not stop until there are just nine remaining players. Along with Nguyen, Lee Watkinson and Daniel Alaei represent the only familiar names still in contention. Watkinson and Alaei are 12th and 25th in chips, respectively.
The chipleader, with a little over ten million chips, is David Tran. Just behind him is PokerTips interviewee Philip Hilm. Online player Hevad "Rain" Khan is fourth in chips.
At the close of yesterday's action, Maria Ho, the last remaining female player, was eliminated in 38th place.
